Granada, Here I Come!
So, the last time this blog was used was during my trip to Buenos Aires in Argentina. Now....
My adventures are continuing this year when I go to study at the University of Granada in Spain through Sol Education Abroad! At Lynchburg College I study International Relations and Spanish therefore this study abroad opportunity will help me meet some of my major requirements.
I am planning on living with a host family and am looking forward to potentially living with Evy, who is also a student from Lynchburg. Altogether there will be four LC students at La Universidad de Granada this fall!
My planning for this program has been under way for what seems like forever; I have already visited the Spanish Consulate in Washington D.C. to apply for my Visa, and my paperwork is in the works!
In preparation for lots of travel and activities in Spain I am working two jobs this summer, at BJ's and I am tutoring for the Utica Summer Program. The work will be worth it so I am able to really squeeze all of my opportunities while in Spain. Some things in particular that I am looking forward to are going back to Segovia (the first place I ever went abroad!) and seeing my previous host sisters, going to Barcelona to see La Sagrada Familia, and hopefully (fingers crossed!) visiting both Portugal and Morocco.
Follow me as my trip begins... I will be writing in both Spanish and English. I will tell you all about the experience of attending a Spanish University, living with a host family, traveling to new cities and soaking up the culture and lifestyle of Spain!
